Rat Pics

For Dad’s bday we went to St Annes and spent the day flying the kite, successfully, picking shells for school and having a picnic. Was a brill day out

Took my flash and enjoyed gig photography a lot more, think ill have to practice using it!

A few more piccies from Skomer. Featuring the very special Skomer vole, an actual sub species of the mainland vole, thats cool!
And a dodgy shot, or two, of the short eared owl that was nesting nearby. Springwatch got some way better shots of it but seen as I have only ever seen an owl in the wild twice (including this one) I was pretty happy just seeing it!
Oh yeh, and the guy on the bench? Its Ray Mears.. will be interesting to see his Skomer prog when it comes onto TV.

I see these and just think ‘ahh’. We didnt focus on landscape piccies but we want to go back later this year to do just that. Skomer is so purdy!

We went back to Skomer island and had a brilliant time. The puffins were there and they were amazing! I only took a few piccies of them….
It was amazing to be sat so close to the puffins and we spent quite a while watching them tottle about. We were also really lucky as the puffins were just hatching when we got there and there were many parents bringing sand eels to their young, woo for sand eel in mouth pics!
Cant wait to go back to Skomer

After a lovely walk around Treacle Market we took a quick wander to Macclesfield forest. We were’nt there long but managed to see a host of nesting herons. Will have to go back!

Sunday was a nice day, too nice to stay indoors. So we decided to pop to Sandbach to watch Emms play rugby. Her team beat the Welsh team (58-ish to 0) rather impressively!

Parry and I decided to go on a day out (first one for ages since moving house!) to Trentham Gardens. It’s a nice place and once in full bloom I might go along with my macro lens and ‘get lost’ for a bit!

A Broadbent family trip to Blackpool. It was a most unsuccessful kite flying trip but on the plus side it made me laugh so hard I cried!
